Silent Night Arrest: Arinal Djunaidi Detained by Prosecutors in LEB Case!

LAMPUNG – The Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office has named former Lampung Governor Arinal Djunaidi as a suspect in an alleged corruption case involving the management of a 10 percent Participating Interest (PI) fund at PT Lampung Energi Berjaya (LEB).

The designation was made after investigators conducted an examination and case review. Following his naming as a suspect, Arinal was immediately detained by prosecutors and taken to the Way Huwi Detention Center.

Head of the Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office, Danang Suryo Wibowo, explained that the suspect designation had gone through an investigation process and the collection of sufficient evidence.

“The designation is based on Letter Number: TAP-04/L.8/FG.2/04/2026,” the Chief Prosecutor said during a press conference on Tuesday night, April 28, 2026.

He added that Arinal’s detention will last for the next 20 days, starting from April 28 until May 17, 2026.

In this case, Arinal is charged under the primary indictment of Article 603 of Law Number 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Corruption Crimes, as well as Article 20 letter (c) of the Criminal Code.

“Subsidiary Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 on Corruption Eradication,” the Chief Prosecutor stated.

After being named a suspect, Arinal was immediately escorted to a detention vehicle that had been prepared in the courtyard of the Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office since 8:00 p.m. WIB.

He was seen leaving the special crimes investigation room wearing an orange detainee vest.

At around 9:22 p.m. WIB, Arinal was taken to the Way Huwi Detention Center.

Throughout the process, he did not make any statements. With his hands cuffed, Arinal kept his head down as officers escorted him to the detention vehicle.
That night, Arinal’s wife, Riana Sari, was seen standing firm while giving support to her husband at the Lampung High Prosecutor’s Office.

“We are here with our children and in-laws to give support to him. As his wife, and together with the children, we believe that not a single cent of money went into his personal account,” Riana told reporters. (dit/cht)
